Meeting Minutes - SSSP Core-group Meeting
Tuesday August 13th, 2002, 6:30pm-7:30pm @ Dr. Ehsan Sadri's apartment
(Dr. Ehsan Sadri, Quan Nhu, Sharon Tseng, Andrew Hammer, Sachin Kalyani, Aditee Ambardekar)A. Important dates:
* August 26th, 2002: Residency Fair @ Student Union
* August 28th, 2002: Activities Fair 11:30AM-1:30PM @ MSTF Atrium
* September 3rd, 2002: Core-group meeting 6:30PM-7:30PM; Location TBA
* September 10th, 2002: General body meeting and training 5:30PM-7:00PM @ the Eye Clinic, 419 Redwood #420B. Screenings update:
* 1st screening - Coordinator: Sharon Tseng; scheduled for September 19th or 21st, 2002.
* 2nd screening - Coordinator: Andrew Hammer. Screening will be 2-3 weeks later.
* CCI Fair (April 2003) - Coordinator: Aditee Ambardekar
* Note: We will add Blood Pressure measurement to our screenings from now on.C. Grants application update:
* AMSA Local Project Grants Application: completed and ready for submission.
* AMA Grants Application (more info needed)D. Papers update:
* Paper #1 update: will arrange meeting with Dr. Ellish to go over collected data; expected completion - Sept (Quan, Sharon, Sachin, Andrew, Dr. Sadri)
* Paper #2 update: questionaire completed. Data collection Sept thru Nov; expected completion - Nov/Dec (Sachin, Mark, Aditee, Sharon, Quan)
* AMA short paper: (Aditee, Quan)E. Follow-up Sessions:
* We will attempt to have follow-up's every 3 screenings at the Eye Clinic. The first follow up is tentatively planned for Oct/Nov 2002 (Aditee)****************************Tuesday July 16th 2002 - Core Group Meeting at Dr. Ehsan Sadri's apartment, 6 pm - 7 pm
Focus: 1) the mass meeting in September, 2) our paper and 3) plans for the next three months
I. Student Activities Fair in August - need to find out when and need to sign up for it
II. Residency Fair - August 16th
III. Need to add Sachin and Mark to Core Group email list. Need to add rising 2nd years that had shown interests to email group too!
IV. Upcoming Meetings and Events:
1) Core Group Meeting around 3rd week of August. Definite date will be sent out.
2) July-August: a) Work on 1st paper & a paper for AMA; b) AMA grant application
3) General Body Meeting (inform all 4 classes) - Monday September 9th, 2002
4) One week later (after 1st exam) - First screening: Gallery / Lexington
5) Another screening will follow in 2-3 weeks - 2nd screening: Gallery / Lexington
6) October Screening: Location TBA
7) Finalize 2nd paper
